Thailand's flagship national park unit, located a short 2 hour drive from the capital city of Bangkok, Khao Yai boasts marvelous waterfalls, mountain and valley scenery, numerous hiking trails and charismatic megafauna, like elephants, deer and tigers (though the latter are much more scarce and keep mainly to the far eastern reaches of the larger Dong Phraya Forest Complex of which Khao Yai is a part).
