Most visitors new to Tokyo will find themselves at the tourist trap known as Asakusa, where Sensoji temple and a long street full of souvenir trinket shops line your path to one of the most visited sites in the Japanese capital. This being more than my 12th visit to Japan, I still sought out the neighborhood, both for its colorful architecture and people as for the black sesame seed ice cream that I could no longer find elsewhere in my travels.
