A village located on the River Arun 3 miles north of Arundel. This essentially rural parish has a population of about 176 people.
The Monarch's Way long-distance footpath, which follows Charles II's supposed escape route to France from the Sussex coast after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651, descends from the Downs into the village, before heading south along the river towards Arundel.
