Burpham is a secluded small village at the end of a long narrow road which clings to the side of the River Arun Valley and then stops..... there is no through traffic. It is about 2 miles northeast of Arundel, and has a very pretty main street, mainly of thatched flint cottages. There are wonderful views across the river and its water meadows towards Arundel Castle. The village has a century-old cricket pitch where W. G. Grace played, and one 18th century public house, the George and Dragon.
