questa foto è un ibrido... ma è anche un monumento. Difficile decidere dove stia il sublime e dove il banale: forse sono intercambiabili. In questo dubbio è tutto il valore della foto!
(devo spiegarmi? se il capannone è assunto come "mostro del paesaggio", allora è un semplice e banale piedistallo per il sopra, che viene però così monumentalizzato nel ricordo della foto originale: ma, monumentalizzato, diventa cartolina, quindi banale. Se invece assumi come banale il riferimento scontato ad Adams, è il potente geometrico pop capannone che diventa monumento, inconciliabile col resto e perciò sublime). Wow!

A friend of mine made a trip to Hernandez a couple of years ago
to find the spot where "the Moonrise" was taken...
by the way, the old church and cemetery was still there.

For some reason this has the same still, silent awesome quality to it as that famous Ansel Adams photo Moonrise over Hernandez (though Adams would turn in his grave at the colour comparison. :) )
