In Tuzla a group of ham radio operators, mostly teenagers, was maintaining contact with Muslim authorities in isolated parts of Bosnia. When I shot this picture the situation in Srebrenica was critical and most of the communication was with people in the besieged town. The kids were handling both official and personal communications. They had the ability to patch radio calls into the telephone system.
