UN military observers arrived in January of '92. This is the first meeting between the UN and Croatian officials. It took place at the Intercontinental Hotel. I remember how much hope there was in this meeting. Everybody assumed the UN was going to make an impact....the waitress was very pretty and the two UN dudes from Bangladesh were very intensely chatting her up.
