20050831 / Waves of Change

Fort Ord, CA

Speaking with a brave soldier about to be deployed to Afghanistan, it
struck me that changes currently happening in my life are really nothing
to get stressed out over. I'll be moving soon and starting a new career.
My waves of change are akin to 6 foot swell on a peaceful Sunday morning,
no one out by the F.O.G. Her waves are 40 foot monsters on an epic,
Maverick's afternoon with the world watching and the Great Whites circling.

It put things in perspective.

Very touching words, Chris. Thank you. I love this picture. Strangely enough the carving and that very blue sky reminds me of a world miles away. Wonderful composition and I love how large this building appears from the angle that you took it. Good luck with your move!

Yeah, I was really take back by the vignette as well. Made a tear well up in me eye for the old Fort Ord.

Will you still be on the West Coast, or back to Motown perhaps? Wherever it is, wishing you all the best as you embark on your new journey, Bhai :) The best part about this 'official PaD' is to read the words you wrote in how you've put your current situation into perspective, which will allow you to start this new part of your life untethered. As for the image, love the textures and excellent contrast in color. That blue is outstanding and the vignetting works well. Very nice light here as well. .
