After the RAW Conversion, crop and resize, I used Paint Daubs in PS
and then ran the thing through Neat Image to smooth it out a bit. At
original size the manipulation is particularly obvious, esp on an LCD
monitor with a nice graphics card, but I liked the effect.

As for the 'words' mentioned early on in the comments, I posted a poem
along with it that felt right at the time but didn't really work well
with the image as the day wore on. So I erased it. She's still golden,
however. For the record, she wasn't sneering at me. Her boyfriend was
fetching Mexican Food as she browsed at Circuit City's 4th of July sale.
When they met up at the car, she apparently wasn't thrilled with what
he brought back to eat.
