A reconstruction dating from 1968, Komaki-jō was originally built by Oda Nobunaga in 1563 atop Komaki-yama. Although the castle is picturesque from afar, its hilltop position makes it notoriously hard to photograph up close thanks to the surrounding trees (despite their popularity in the spring - they're all cherry blossoms).
