This photo was taken from the net. This is actually a 1966 model, but it looks exactly like the 1968 model I owned for "eight months" while aboard the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier, that I bought new while in Japan. I never started the engine while it was kept in a radio room on the second deck on the tower section of the ship. When we finally got into a US port 8 months later I traded the bike for the newer 5 speed scrambler that just came out on the market. Probably should of kept the 68 model and NOT traded it in on a 1969 450 Scrambler. Then I may have put a windshield on it, saddle bags, etc. waited a few more months for it to warm up a little and ridden it from the east coast back to Oregon, after getting out of the Navy in March of 1971. But .... I was just too excited to get home so I had the bike crated up and shipped by railroad back to Oregon, and I went home on a jet.
