This is an exact color and model that I traded in my 1968 for. I never rode or even started the engine, on my 1968 450 model. I bought it in Japan, had it stowed on the aircraft carrier I was on (the USS Intrepid) for 8 months, until we came back to the states. Then before I had a chance to ride it, I traded it in on the "new" 1969 Scrambler model, at a local eastcoast dealership. To my surprise this model went through "spark plugs" fast! They went out about every 600-800 miles. I got out of the Navy in March, from the east coast. Was too cold at that time, so I had the Scrambler shipped back to Oregon, my home state. I "was" going to ride it back home, but at the last moment I changed my mind. To this day I have always wanted to make the trip, from "coast-to-coast" on a motorcycle ..... maybe someday.
