Carriage path bridge near Jordan Pond House.
When John D. Rockefeller owned much of what is now Acadia National Park he created a 57 mile system of roads for horse-drawn carriages. The roads are now maintained by the Park Service and volunteers for walking, biking, cross-country skiing and carriage rides on some of them.
