This is a collage of several images that probably needs some explanation,
as it is some kind of 'Once upon a time'.
Took the main shot about a year ago, and it always reminded me a bit on a well known image,
that had become some kind of symbol of the revolution of carnations.
So I took in a carnation here instead of the original rose.
The revolution took place in Portugal in April 1974 and brought the Salazar and Caetano regime to an end,
which was the longest existing dictatorship in Europe for almost 50 years.
I went to Portugal a few month later, to see the changes in everyday life,
when many people had the illusion that everything could be possible,
in a period of vacancy, where the old dictatorship no longer existed,
but a new system wasn´t established yet.
Thought first to put in here the song of the revolution, 'Grandola vila morena' by Zeca Afonso,
but then decided not to be too nostalgic (LOL).
So here is a song by great singer Cesaria Evora from Cape Verde.
The islands got their independence from Portugal in 1975, one year after the revolution.
