Jul 5: New Lecky

How'd you like a job like this? Up a pole in the July rain and fog. The electricity company have been hard at work upgrading our supply. We're now on a ring they tell me, a the wires over our garden are now insulated. (Yippee I can fly a kite again!). But while they've been out in our now typical summer weather, replacing the old post and transformer with a shiny new one, we've had no power. All day. It went off at 8am and it's now 5:20 and they're still not finished. No power means no kettle, toaster or worst of all, no internet! Just in case you're wondering, I'm typing this on a laptop, but with only 38 minutes of battery life left, I hope the mains power comes back on again soon! 6:40pm - still no lecky. 7:35 Lecky! YAY!!

We do depend upon power. They are threatening power outages here because of the heat. It happens every summer.
