A musical weekend... well, partly. Saturday night, Eurovision song contest night, Sunday night, Folk on the Moor with special guest Clive Gregson.

The thing you have to keep in mind about the Eurovison song contest is that it’s nothing to do with music. The moment you start to think it’s about music is the moment it’ll send you insane. I’m not sure what it is about but I can say that the eastern European countries seem to think it’s very important and take it very seriously indeed. Except Ukraine, who seem to have it nailed. Proper Eurovision song with a chorus that translates as “Seven, Seven, One Two Three”. Performed by a cross dresser with a silver costume and a huge chrome star on his head it was the highlight of the show. Shame they didn’t win. As for the UK entry, well, second to last was more than it deserved!

On Sunday however, we found ourselves across the Tamar in a folk club on Dartmoor, where we were treated to performances by a few locals, as well as the wonderful Clive Gregson. Someone who’s never entered the Euovison...!

What's this got to do with Coke cans? Our neighbor, Annie, who supplies the drinks cans for my pinholes came round to watch Eurovision. She left the empty cans behind as gifts. Thanks Annie!
