- 16th March 2005 - Quayside

This is the redeveloped area adjacent to the Ellesmere Port Museum - follow the railings to the nice restaurant (not tried it yet). Snapped it on the way back from a networking meeting at Scottish Power's Hoylake training centre.

If you turn the other way you get a view over the Manchester Ship canal to Stanlow refinery :) romantic eh?!

Also snapped my first bird shot and a few shots along the Hoylake water front. The bird shot was at full zoom and pretty heavily cropped, but I got one!

Finally took this one for the 'green goddess' fan club. Funny how logos become less recognisable when viewed at a different angle. I was early for the meeting so had to do something while sitting in the carpark!!

nice B.W night shot, nicely composed, shame about your shadow, but as said before use your timer & job done.
Nick Clarke01-May-2005 20:49
Very nice night exposure, next time though, put your camera on a timer and your shadow won't be in it! ;)

That should be a popular place when summer arrives, Ian. I like that single lightburst in the darkness.

I love the low perspective in this image and the distance it gives you. The light and darkness give this image a very nice mood. Wonderful black and white as well.

Stunning. I like the way the pavement lines lead your eye into the photo and the light from the street lamp leads you across. Excellent shot Ian
Christina Craft16-Mar-2005 23:46

Very nice! I like the ground-level perspective. The shadow adds a nice touch to it too.
Sheena Woodhead16-Mar-2005 22:03
Ian, this is excellent. I like the low level shooting position and the shafts of light from the lamp. Great perspective with the cobbles and good in B&W.
