Robin on Holly

Much of the ice has melted from the trees and bushes and must have left all the berries quite soft as scores of birds were in my garden filling their beaks this afternoon. I have been trying to get a nice photo of a robin for a long time, and this one posed nicely for me today. It helps to have the big zoom lens though. This image is dedicated in memory of Ruth and of our conversations about robins, proper ones and American ones...

This is a wonderful image...there were robins here during our ice storm, too....I tried, but not with this result. Well done.

Oh my gosh!! What is a robin doing by you this time of year?? Excellent shot Trisha! I like the contrast of the colors of the bird and the deep green of the holly against the white background, I think it works really well. Just goes to show you don't always need "blue sky". Very well done.

Very nice shot, Tricia. What's he/she doing in these cold parts?

Nice capture. I haven't seen any for quite a while, but actually managed to get a full frame shot yesterday.
