The sun shone very briefly on this beautiful flower,
shortly before we were hit by lashing rains and strong
winds, the remains of Hurricane Ike. The flowers only
last a day or two at most, this one is still quite
wrinkled from having just opened up and looked so
perfect I just had to capture it in a photo.
I decided to shoot with a large aperture to blur the background.
I did take some shots with a smaller aperture, but prefer the
look of this image.
