... this merchant ship, carrying a load of cement, was sunk in the Nhe Be anchorage by a mine attached to its anchor chain. The Viet Cong would approach the anchored ships under cover of darkness and attempt to attach mines, just below the surface, to the ship's anchor chain. As the ship slowly rotated around its anchor chain, it would eventually come into contact with the mine and ... well, the result is obvious.
