A good friend of mine had never had the sensor cleaned on his Nikon D-80, and was reluctant to send it off to Nikon, so I offered to do the job for him. I don't know the age of the camera but it appears to have lots of 'mileage' on it. The image above shows the amount of dirt on the imaging sensor prior to cleaning.
Click the NEXT button above the photo to see the sensor AFTER swabbing it 7 times with pec pads and Eclipse. I was able to remove 95% of the dust on the first try, but there were a couple stubborn dust spots that kept moving around instead of clinging to my cleaning tool on successive attempts. After 7 tries, I was satisfied that the dust was all gone.
