#25 Forgotten

I recently came across this collection of wooden needles/shuttles and mesh gauges amassed by my Grandmother.
I'd completely forgotten that I had stashed them away.
They were used to make any manner and size of netting.
The largest needle is 14 inches long.
Mostly for the knitting of fish nets and bait bags for our island fishing community.

This is fascinating Terry! The wooden needles are works of art in and of themselves! Would love to see somebody actually making a net with them!
Beautiful photo! V

A great find! And shame on me, from the thumb I really thought these are sticks for rollmops.

Interesting find Terry. Looks like a fine collection. Off to make a large spider web out of netting for the compeition? Great image BTW.
