The Shy Red-Tail

Murfreesboro, TN

This guy and I have a running battle. He lives in the area which is on my way to church and to Franklin, so I see him often on the wires, looking for lunch. When I stop, he sees me coming, so I must be really quick with the camera. I got him by stopping my car with the window down and lens across my left arm. I got a coupe of shots against a bright background while he was on the wire. He did, however, turn after flying away, to see where I was, and I managed to get this shot. Contrary birds...

You did a great job of capturing your adversary.

If this was easy, Michael, everyone would do it....:). Nice capture. I like the
backlighting and you did a masterful job with the underside lighting.

Michael, I love it. I almost put up an similar shot of a red kite I chased in my car but put the Cowra POW camp up instead. Gazumped again!
