A Bluebird

Hardin County, Tennessee

This bird was on the same limb as its mate, but I couldn't get them close enough. These birds mate for life, like eagles, and the interesting thing is they truly are ideal spouses...if you see one, you'd best look around: the other is always within eyesight.
How do I know? A pair live in our eaves, and EIGHT of their offspring are in the vicinity..

Great capture of the male bluebird.

To share your house with such colourful characters must be wonderful.
I put up a nesting box that is being used by a sparrow and so have made a small start.

l've never ever seen one.

Gorgeous colors... I second Terry's comment about
wanting some here in the NW. We have Stellar's Jays
which some people call Blue Jays, which aren't even
close, but interesing and fun in their own way.

You are so right about the pretty colors, Michael. I would love to have a pair in my eaves. I rarely see them in Wisconsin.

Yes, Terry, I hesitated to post it, but the colors were so good...it was about 40 meters away, and I did what I could.
We have more eagle shots coming...one or two might even be close to YOUR standards...

Beautiful bird and image, Michael. Just a bit soft, but
nevertheless, a very appealing image. Wish we had them here!
