Lonely place

We were quite lucky this day, as the car park near to these dunes was closed due to road works, we walked from the ranger station, visible in the background after checking with the ranger. All he said was to watch out for the rattlers! (We did'nt see any) But as you can see we had the place to ourselves, with no footprints apart from ours to spoil the view. A memorable place.

Brilliant place and carefully constructed.

Wow, that is one desolate and powerful place with the man walking on the ridge of sand. Just shows how small we really are in this world.

Empty, and full at the same time.
Obviously, this isn't home, Tony.
Looks like sidewinder country to me.
Southern California?
Algeria?

Yes, rattlers would be very common in this area. A great capture Tony...

A most striking photo Tony and very original.
l guess the footprints in the sand are yours, leading part way away from the subject.
Beautifully done

Tony, if a picture says a thousand words, then this one says 100,000!

Beautifully composed and well taken, Tony. Those
footprints leading to the person and overall view
really make this one for me.

These are the Panamint Dunes, Death Valley, Nevada.http://www.toddshikingguide.com/Hikes/California/DeathValley/DV12.htm shows a medium hike to reach them.

Tony, This is a very special photo. The footprints leading to the lone human really adds scale and the feeling of "lonely". Well done.
