Santorini, Greece

I had seen pictures of this church before, but it took a little bit of exploring to find. Eventually after looking around side streets, I found a wall I could clamber up on to take the picture.

A wonderful place for photography, especially from the volcano caldera looking down with the sea as a backdrop.

Not sure if I should have cropped in a little, to get rid of the island in the back?

I like the depth with the island there it sets the mood of the sea.

Seems like a peaceful spot... I can almost feel the breeze.

Tony, I think you did the correct thing leaving the island in. It balances with the bell tower on the other side. It also lends context to the scene. I love the blue dome against the white bell tower. I agree with the other posters...it is perfect.

I have to echo what has been said. Just perfect.

Nice shot, with the Island gives a context, but maybe without would be more dramatic

A wonderful shot either way, Tony.
lt is two entirely different compositions, with and without the island.
As a shot of the church alone the building definitely has more depth without the island.
With the island it is more an excellent composition clearly in the Greek lslands.
lf l really had to choose, l'd choose the photo without and giving the bell-tower and the dome much more depth.
But it's really a win-win situation.

Simply beautiful! And, I like the island out there, it helps add something interesting to the top frame.
