Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs

Edwards NWR, Alviso

The Greater Yellowlegs, on the left, is much larger and has a proportionatly longer bill, thicker and paler at the base, than the two Lesser Yellowlegs, center and right.

That's a nice shot, and a good illustration of the differences between the Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. Have you seen the Yellowlegs at Shoreline Lake? I'm still trying to decide whether it is Greater or Lesser. I have 4 photos of it at
