The spotting on the side of the breast, and then the especially clear v-shaped rather than squared-off scapulars and wing coverts identify this bird as Short-billed; the white ground to the rear underparts is consistent with that. However, the upperpart pattern is bold (black/white/red) rather than muted (brown/buff), the latter being more characteristic of Short-billed.
