I love this view of the car. The interplay of light, color, and shadow opens this image up to the possibility of many interpretations.

This is my favorite !
Not quite an abstract but almost.
There is something special about this shot.
As Phil said below it does evoke the depression.

Carol, you've managed to turn an old windscreen into a curiously peaceful retro image, also thanks to the low warm light. I also like this one a lot !
Jim.

Sorry, I posted the wrong link for Hopper's Nighthawks. Here is the correct one

We each took a strikingly different approach to this old car. I concentrated on the reciprocal curves to link the contrasts in color and texture, as well as stress the differences in texture between the hood and the chrome, athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/56186753 , while you moved in closer on the same car in the same light and created a soft glowing series of color and light comparisons that remind me of the way Edward Hopper used light and color in his paintings, as in "Nighthawks" (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/56186753 ) You have captured the same sense of loneliness and have evoked the mood of the great depression beautifully.
