Carol, you are so nice to comment on my photographs, and I rarely return the favor. I certainly should. This is one of the best photographs - of any subject - I've ever seen. The picture needs no words, yet the title is perfect.

Wow! What an intense and well done shot. The light on the dogs face gives it a great focal point from which you branch out and start noticing all the fascinating details of the rest of the image and put together the whole story. ~BV~

It's the degree of abstraction that makes this image work, Carol. We don't see the man himself -- only his hand, holding a cigarette. The presence of the dog is beautifully amplified by your title.
