*** 44.8- Split Rock Lighthouse: Cascading Surf, October 5th

I love the quality of the water cascading over the rocks here, and the colors.
It's that 1/13th of a second again that I find so perfect -- usually.
I could only wish that I had a little more space at the bottom.

I'm not always able to predict when a scene will turn out something
special, or just prove to be boring.
As many frames as I have shot at this same location (my ongoing challenge),
I start to think that I've surely done it all already,
then one comes along like this, and shines.
Other times I have been enthralled with a dramatic sunrise, only to get home
and find it disappointing.

A camera is like a magic box:
You plan the effect you're desiring to create,
then you wait to see what actually occurred.
