Shot from mountain location 22 miles west of Leavenworth, WA in Tumwater Canyon. This is a 60 second exposure with a Canon 7D and Canon 10-22mm lens (at 10mm). ISO 6400 (!) at F4.0. The camera was mounted on my iOptron Sky Tracker with tracking set to 1/2 speed to minimize the trailing of the stars and blurring of foreground trees. This shot was lightly edited in Photoshop to enhance contrast and remove digital noise.

The light pollution evident at the horizon is Leavenworth 22 miles to the east. There was also some light trespass from passing cars on US hwy 2 about 500 feet below.
