Livin' On The Edge
by Jerry Curtis

Actually, this is a bit dangerous, as, just behind these seagulls are the remains several of their colleagues -
frozen into the quick-freezing ice of a few nights ago, while eagles and other gulls feed on the carcasses.
I actually went there to photograph the eagles, but must have missed breakfast time, so shot this one for the challenge.

Nice image - I love the simple row of birds and their reflections! I hope they are able to stay away from the eagles.

Jerry, I love how the gulls line up here along the edge of the water...and how their subtle reflections compliment this edge line without being distracting. Well composed too with 2/3rds plain ice meeting 1/3rd plain water along this same line...your background is very simple and effective. I know you went for a shot of the eagles...but I really like this shot you came away with. Nice photo and capture! MFC
