Beautiful wide-angle shot, Daniel. The color, lighting, and detail are excellent...love the perfect symmetry interrupted by the lone patron. Very well done! MFC

Many thanks to all four of you for your generous compliments on my own favorite image of 2008; interesting video your link leads to, Jo. I'm quite familiar with Calatrava's work (as he lives in the country I am from; and he is from the country I live in). His work fascinates me a lot, though those of his buildings I know well, show every now and then some surprising flaws in practicality. The view from the seats in this opera-theater is not one of them, BTW, as the spectators do not normally--as did my camera standing on the stage here--"wear" wide-angle lenses ;-)) -- db.

Great shot Daniel. How is the view from the seats in the back? Can they even see the stage?
Maastricht University (my employer) is building a new campus designed by Calatrava at the moment. Looking at this artist impression www.kamerburo.net/media (copy and paste this into your browser) I see lots of photo opportunities.

Great composition and color - I agree with Frank, I bet it looks awesome when printed large!

Daniel, this superb shot definetly deserves a much bigger presentation!
