Steve, I attached my aftermarket choke pull to the same brace you used, but I quickly realized that it might nail me in the knee in an accident. I then offset it to the right, though it is far less elaborate than your version. l disconnected the original choke (possibly not original and my car had the automatic choke) and left it in place, rolling it up and anchoring it out of the way. I know we have had some of this conversation earlier regarding adjusting the carb jets. No way I could get the original choke pull to move the carb choke mechanism. I also thought of using bicycle cable, as I am something of a road bike mechanic and have worked on high end bikes for years. A simple generic cable and housing did the trick, however.
