tec3 recommends the use of a GM IAC valve for idle speed control.
The IAC and the tec3 housing were intended to be mounted on the throttle body. There really isn't the room or clearance to do so on a Volvo throttle body.
So the decision was made to come up with an adapter to utilize the GM IAC and the tec3 housing to replace the Volvo CIS motor.
The adapter is fitted with 3/4in hose to 1/2in NPT threaded heater hose fittings. 3/4in hose is the size of the ends on the Volvo CIS motor.
The CIS hoses are 5/8in ID, with ends enlarged to 3/4in.
The fittings supplied can be replaced with 5/8in to 1/2in NPT heater hose fittings if need be.
I cut out two gaskets to go between the tec3 housing and the adapter housing, to seal the surface; one of them being intended for a spare.
