All eight valves and their spring assemblies are in. What is missing at this point are the eight rubber shocks, or dampers, that are installed on the valve stem tips. I do not install the dampers at this point. Rather, I finish assembling the head, and check and adjust the valve clearances.

The camshaft is removed again, in preparation for installation of the head onto the block. Before I reinstall the camshaft for the last time, I install the dampers.
