Crane Fly, Limonia (Geranomyia) sp. (Tipulidae: Limoniinae)

Yasuní National Park, Prov. Orellana, Ecuador

This fly resembled a mosquito at first glance, but closer observation revealed a crane fly with a slender proboscis for foraging from tubular flowers. Det. C. Young 2010.
