This is the Alpine mine just South of Ouray Colorado. This is one of the largest of many mines that litter the landscape dating from still active to over 100 years old. Frequently, all that is left is the tale tale signs of tailings being discarded with all buildings and equipment having long been claimed by the elements or collectors.

The hill side is filled with evergreens and Aspen midway through their color change to embrace winter.
