What would a season be without a portrait of my hiking companion,Trixie, of the winter months. With Summer fully intrenched (It gets hot here earlier than most places), she has taken to doing lots of sleeping in the daytime hours. However, she has a strong desire to become very nocturnal as the temperature is much more pleasant then.

Shot with my new 1D Mk II, this shot is taken with the 300mm f4.0L IS lens. Hand-held at 1/10 of a second wide open. The detail and sharpness of this camera simply blows my 1D out of the water.
