My Blind 11_11_05.jpg

This is the blind I use; a Cabela's Lightning Set 4-season Blind. It pops up in a few seconds and packs back up easily. It has eight windows that have mesh covers that remove easily. It is large enough for two chairs, two tripods and some equipment. I got mine, of course, at Cabela's. I think they have been open a month or so now...maybe a little longer. I am going down there on Tuesday...might have to stop. I am still not sure where you get the lens out.....just pull the screen off the side with the velrco a little? Or is there a "dedicated" opening for guns, bows, cameras and such. As you can tell, I have never used one (or been in one). It sure let you get pretty close to the eagle...should be fun for many types of birds. An employee of mine just had 5 wolves around him while deer hunting...and very close. He had a camera, but didn't dare move to take it out of his pocket. He said two of them were around 150 lbs.......he didn't drop his gun. They were all within 20-30 yards.Quite an experience, he said.

You can view through the windows without really being observed. The windows come with a solid panel and a screen panel (with the same camo pattern) that Velcro. There was plenty of room for the tripod and a couple of chairs, my Lowpro Minitrekker and a good size cooler (one must have beer, sandwiches and chips for this type of outing).

Steve you may want to check the new store in Rogers, Minn. They ran a pretty good special on pop-up blinds at our store during our opening. I'm guessing they will do the same there...I think the store has been open a few weeks now...not sure when the official grand opening runs.

Pretty cool bind, Bill...maybe if you set up at the right place you could spot a Wanda out in the wild? Is it cumbersome to use the tripod in the blind? Do you just pop the lens out and then view though the camera? Or can you use the window without being observed? Eagles don't miss much......
