Hanging On 11_07_05.jpg

This picture really represents how I feel lately...I'm just hanging on like this little leaf blowing in the wind refusing to fall from its safe little branch. Sorry for missing a few days of photos. I just haven't felt any creativity. I seem to be dreading the long cold gray Winter that is coming all to soon.

The last few days have been hinting at the Winter to come: cold, windy and gray. The snow level keeps creeping farther down the wind swept ridges above the house. In the past the snow has melted from the ridge tops between storms. Now it seems to just be getting deeper. Content to stay until those soul warming Spring days that seem so far away.

I have been clinging to that sunny feeling of Fall. I haven't gotten my winter coat and gloves out of the closet. I think it is time. It's time I gave in and let go and slip comfortably into Winter.

Muy buena y dentro de lo sencilla que es, la encuentro muy original en la realización

Looking at this photo, I would say your creativity is intact! Lovely shot.
I know what you mean about the impending winter, its been ugly here for a week, I wish it would just snow and get it over with. :-(

Bill, I know just how you feel. The last couple weeks here have been gray clouds and rain, rain rain. I spend a great deal of my day working outside and every time I put on my rain gear I think, yuk I get to look foreward to 4-5 months of this. I guess you'll just have to break out the studio light's and take pictures of Wanda all winter. That should cheer you up, and you can feel good knowing you've made everyone here on pbase happy by sharing them.

First time comment here, though I view your work regularly. Nice moody shot.
Here in The Netherlands we have a saying that describes the emotional state you're in right now. It's called (loosely translated): "falling leaves disorder". In between summer holliday and christmas break, gettingless daylight (UV's), gray skies overhead with chilling winds and decreasing temperatures. It's enough to get one's spirit down, but hopefully not for long! Hang in there Bill!
In all seriousness. Love your work. Looking forward to viewing your great photgraphy on an (almost) daily basis.

You guys are making me long for winter and it's depressing knowing we wonn't have one. I am in Louisiana and it's 83 outside right now. Just goes to show -- it's all about your perspective...

I know how you feel Bill, and this image captures it very well, the last couple of weeks have been like this for me as well. True art captures an emotion within us... and once again you have shown the Artists touch ~ thank you

Bill I second what Harry said, If the wood is in, the house snug. My wife and I were just talking about this last weekend, its like mud season in the spring, after the snows settle in and all is beautiful, you'll be back up. I took a similar theme last weekend on this shot for yesterday's posthttp://www.pbase.com/bob_foisel/image/51924578

Wm., you are truly blessed, spend a few days looking through the photos you have taken this last year, spend a few weeks looking at Wanda, spend a few months looking at your family that are close and safe. By the time you finish counting your blessings, the next thing you know it will be spring! The earth will spring back to life in all her beauty. Remember, you would not appreciate the warmth of the sun in summer if you did not experience the cold and dark of winter. You are the master of light, if it is dark and cold outside let your light shine inside your sole and warm the hearts around you.
