Wanda is sitting on the rock out by her trees. From here we can look out across the valley or up the mountain and enjoy natures beauty. It is a peaceful place we go to relax and contemplate the universe. Wanda was feeling kind of sad because we just got home from the veterinarian where we had the oldest barn cat euthanized. He was very old and had cancer; so, it was his time. Still it makes for a sad day even if he was just one of the strays that decided to share our home.

I remember this day very clearly. Poor old Valiant Kitty was suffering and I had to have him put down. I wasn't even really that attached to him and yet still it was so difficult for Me to do the deed. The day I have to do the same to My precious Orrin G will really be a tough one. I remember I had been crying My eyes out , even hours afterward. Of course there was no way I was going to face the camera with the old red eyes and snotty nose. So, this image was the best way to fulfill our PAD obligation.

I sat on this same rock back in '99 when My mother passed. It really is a nice place to sit and just contemplate life and all it's complexities.

No, it wasn't Sammy, but I am sure he will be the next to go. It was "Valiant", the old gray & white one with the limp. He showed up back in '95 or '96. He was ancient back then, or so we figured. It took several years of feeding the old fellow before he would let us pet him.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I'll dry My eyes now and hopefully have a smile for tomorrows picture.

Was is Sammy/Jack Cat? (I never could decide which to call him) I think he stared coming around in 1992 and he was no kitten then! He was a good kitty.

Beautiful shot once again. And isn't it always the strays that decide to stay that we miss the most. Maybe because they chose us and not the other way around.

i understand the feeling i lost my terrier of 22 years a couple of years ago he could no longer walk it was so sad and so hard to let him go ..

I love the way the sunset gets reproduced in the glass... Makes it a little more special. I know how much Wanda loves the cats (I remember her thoughtfulness when my cat went missing) So please give her my condolences. Its never easy. - liza
