Wanda01_07_05a.jpg

Today was another attempt at a "vintage" look. I have a new respect for you photographers that are doing self portraits. Going back and forth and trying to pose while waiting for the camera's timer is a pain in the butt. I think I'll stay behind the camera. I'm not all that great of a model, anyway.

Great photo, seeing the two of you together like this makes one see how easy it was for the two of you to be atracted to each other. You make a great couple, it is easy to see and feel the Love you have for each other. Great job, well worth the work from this end of the shot.

This was another fun one to pose for. I had a hard time getting the right expression on My face though. How are you suppose to look like a "starry-eyed girl in love" when you are giggling? It was just so damned amusing to watch Bill dash from the camera, across the room and hurry to get into the frame before the timer went off.

The interesting thing about this image is that it's the first time I have ever seen the family resemblance between Bill and his father. This image was like looking at an old photo of "Dad". And I love the way Bill looks like he has a short hair-cut. I don't know how he managed to keep that pony tail from peeking out!

This is another image where I don't think I look very much like ME though. Just something about it that doesn't look like Me to Me.

Great shot! Jimmy Stewart eat your heart out! BTW, I'm sure he would have dumped Donna Reed in a sec for Wanda!

Well we're always commenting on how good a job Wanda did and how fantastic she looks along with what a great job Bill has done behind the camera.

Today we get the chance to let Bill know what a good job he has done in fornt of it. Bill Don't be so hard on yourself you did wonderful, it nice to see you in front of the camera and I for one think you should do more of it.

I think you both look fantastic. It does have a vintage feel to it.. your leather jacket adds to the "fly boy" look ... saying his goodbyes to his love who vows to wait until he returns.. (stifled sob)..

really nice b&w tones as well
Guest 09-Jan-2005 05:04
WOW! really well done...

and yes running around the camera and posing is a pain in the butt!! LOL! Yet, it's still fun!
RTHawk09-Jan-2005 05:02
Thanks...Bill
Sorry I missed the identification....

Great SHot..

Very vintage Hollywood in style. I can picture this on an old movie poster. Nicely done, both of you.

Don't be so hard on yourself, Bill - you look very dashing, old chap! And this is very witty. Like it a lot.
CJ Morgan08-Jan-2005 11:24
Oh no, don't just go running behind the camera --
it's kinda nice to see the two you together.
John Lester08-Jan-2005 09:40
Well maybe not so young for Bill but for sure "Dashing" One can see why he got the girl.

Great shot!!

Well John beat me to it I was going to say that you look very youthful and dashing in this one Bill, Wanda, as always looks wonderful.

The only thing I am not sure about is the amount of your eyes that are visible. Not a complaint just not sure how I would have corrected it. If you lower your chin height so that you are more eye level and looking into her eyes I think that would have lost the softness of how your cheek on her forehead adds to the photo, but on the other end if you had closed your eyes as to lay your chin on her in a sigh after a long day I am not sure that would have worked. I guess I am just trying to say I would have liked to have seen more of your eyes looking to her.

Wonderful, romantic photo. Veronica Lake and James Cagney in "A PAD for Algernon". :-)

RT Hawk...pretty good call. That is a Martin Marauder B-26 on the patch. The patch is for the 17th Bomb Group 432nd Bomb Squadron.

Bill, I’m going to disagree with you, … you look very dashing in this photo, and you certainly captured the circa 1945 with the leather flight jacket. Very nice job indeed, … I couldn’t have done it better. This is a keeper!
Jerry Reynolds08-Jan-2005 05:01
Great photo - this one you should frame and hang in the Family Room. Your photos are a joy to visit - Thanks and please keep them comming.

Steve Pepple08-Jan-2005 03:01
You certainly achieved what you set up to do. Excellent.
Guest 08-Jan-2005 01:49
Lookin good guys! Bill, you might try a wired remote. Canon has two versions (I got the cheaper one thats just a shutter button) and its been great. Not only for self portraits but also so you can step away from your subject and chat em up, clicking the shutter at just the right moment. =)
Paul Dovie Jr08-Jan-2005 01:48
I feel you have captured the vintage look. Great photo of the two of you.
Guest 08-Jan-2005 00:52
