Wanda12_30_04.jpg

Today Wanda got out her crystal ball and she is ready with her predictions for 2005.

1. The stock market will stay flat.
2. She will make it through the year without winning MEGABUCKS.
3. Michael Jordan will come out of retirement again.
4. Camo will be come the new “pink”.
5. Wanda will switch to the old “pink”.
6. Global warming will become bad enough that she will finally be warm.
7. Bill will track back “Guest’s” IP address to a user in a trailer park in South Florida.
8. The sun will come up tomorrow…tomorrow…tomorrow.
9. Osama Bin Laden will be captured in a “nudie bar” in Southern Florida where he has been hiding, in a trailer park, for the last 3 years. He spent his time surfing the web, visiting nudie bars and eating pork rinds.
10. Pbase will become the most visited web site on the Internet.
11. Michael Jackson’s voice will finally drop.
12. Martha Stewart will launch a line of orange jumpsuits.
13. Wanda predicts she will finally lose “that” 10 lbs. she has been trying to lose for the past 15 years.
14. Home mortgage rates will stay at record lows.
15. Gas will reach record highs.
16. Adam Sandler will win the Oscar for best Actor.
17. Tom Hanks will accuse the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson of funny accounting related to Sandler’s Oscar win.
18. The world will discover that Robert Redford is only 5’7” tall,
19. Kodak’s film division will release a study linking digital photography to brain cancer.
20. Somebody will start a PAD project with photos only taken with a cell phone.
21. Bill will buy at least one lens…she didn’t need the crystal ball for this one.
22. Playboy will do the “Girls of Pbase” in the July issue.
23. A study will prove PAD’ing is addictive.
24. “Team America World Police” will win the Oscar for “Best Picture”. Maybe there is something to that funny accounting rumor.
25. Dan Rather’s last news story will be about documents proving FOX News Network is the propaganda arm of the Neo Conservative movement. Nobody will care.

So, what are your predictions?

When I look at this image I think maybe I should have actually been a fortune teller! (laffin) How did I get that trance-like look in My eyes? This really was kind of fun to pose for, just working out how to hold the crystal ball over the light was a bit of a fun challenge. We really did have a lot of fun on this project trying different methods and approaches to the images. I know Bill learned a lot from his experience on this project. I know one of the things he learned for sure is that I would NEVER make it as a model, I am too cranky and uncooperative at times. (grin)

As always, a FANTASTIC image, Bill.

My favorite prediction is number 20 (PAD using only a cell phone camera). When my current contract is finished, I will be moving to a new carrier and getting a new phone and I will endeavor to make your prediction come true. :-)

Happy New Year to you and yours.

Great shot, Bill.

PAD and PBase are really addicting, this is true.

Happy New Year to both of you. I've enjoyed the journey.......

It's a great shot: a beautiful woman, fantastic lightning, a perfect idea and a weldone composition. Chapeau!

OK, here is how we did the lighting. One hair light and a fill just about straight in front of Wanda. The crystal ball has a flat spot on the bottom and is sitting right on top of the flash.

I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, the photo or your predictions. First of all I too would love to know how you did the lighting on this, it's great.
A few comments on your predictions,
1- I'm with ya there. 2 - ya, you an me both. 3 - I didn't now he retired again. what do I know. 4 Well ya, as soon as Bill gets you on the cover of Vogue in your hiking duds 5 mmm, no you look better in earth tones or blue to match your eyes 6 don't count on it my wife wears sweater's on vacation in Hawaii, must be a girl thing. 7 Possible 8 OK 9 Ah so Osama is Guest, that explains it, I always thought guest was a wacko. 10 It's not already? 11 ya when he meets his cellmate. 12 ya and you should see the slippers I got for Xmas that she designed, made from kotex. 13 What for you look great. 14 hope so 15 I sure hope so, I work for an oil co. and our stock's doing great. 16 yea right, like that's ever gonna happen. 17 go get'em Tom 18 Maybe I'm not so short after all. 19 They better do something to survive. 20 I would'nt be surprised if that hasn't happened already. 21 Duh!! 22 Absolutely and Wanda will be on the cover. 23 Yea, I could have told you that. 24 Never heard of it? 25 Yup.

As the New Year is almost upon us I want to thank you both for your PAD. It has been an enjoyable part of my life for the last 9 month's. It will be a sad day for many when you guys are done. I wish you both and all your family a very happy New Year. Jim

how did you DO that lighting effect. the crystal ball forgot to tell us!
James Lundy31-Dec-2004 03:56
Bill this one is super cool. How did you light the ball? Post processing or did you use a "light funnell" placed underneath the ball?

Wanda you would make a perfect cover girl for that July issue. Bill would have to lend his talent to the creation of that cover!

Happy New Year to you both.

I will loose that ten or twenty pounds as well! I really like the glow of the globe that reflects on her hands and I like the red lipstick and nailpolish. I think that the lipstick and nailpolish add to the picture in this. Very beautiful as always.
