Not any great attempt to making more than a snap shot tonight. I just wanted to see how the 20D would preform after sunset. We shot this at dusk in the backyard. It was taken at 1600ISO with no noise reduction run in processing. I did resizes for the web, made a small levels adjustment and added Unsharp Mask filter at 200/.2/1 level. I'm impressed at the lack of noise/grain. With the 10D it would be hard to get a usable image at 1600ISO.

Now this is more MY style of posing! Just go "play" and hope Bill snaps the shot when I don't have too dorky of look on My face! No bending and twisting My body in odd directions to create the "right angle" for a photo! YIPEE!

Mr. Bates,

The picture is great as all that I've seen. Camera's performance is really impressive. I wish I could afford one of my own but in a 3rd World country the price is not so affordable and average salary too small. Just one thing: It doesn't seem as it was taken at dusk but at noon. A darker picture with shadows would be much more stylish altough the camera would indicate it as under exposed.

This impresse me to no end.
Shooting night football games or inside sporting events will allow faster shutter speeds. If the $$ were not an issue, I'd have one tommorow, but with 2 kids, a wife and my own wants and needs, it'll be a while before a 20D appears in my camera bag!

The 8 mpix digic chip processor is beside of the Fuji CCD processor the best when it becomes to speek about noise ratio anyway.
It is nice to have this feature and be able to make good pictures at 1600 ISO, but, on the other side I ask myself so often ; Do you realy need this. My high ISO range button starts rusting on my D70. If you go back to old argentic days, try to remember how often you bought a 400or 800 film. On the other side, managing noise is a question of electronic programm rework in the camera. A Chip is able to take no more then 80 ISO anyway. All the rest is a processing game.
For a 1600 ISO, this picture is indeed very clean.

The 20D is impressive. The DIGIC II is outstanding. I'm having sharpness isssues but I don't believe its the 20D...though I had my suspicions until a few tests.

I haven't had the chance to get in-studio with it yet.

Impressive image quality. (Although I have to admit, from the thumbnail, I thought the dog was tugging on Wanda's jeans, like the old Coppertone ads.)

really impresive levels of noise ,you cant really tell ,i would thought it was from a long lens .so you think we sould go for the 20d .thanks for share your photos and your opinions . regards yiannis.

I like this one. It seems more natural. and most important, we can't see the thick make up clearly.
