Another Abandoned Farm

Smaller farms are rapidly disappearing across the country.
A way of life that will soon be gone, once the backbone of
our country.

They are going away due to competition from big agriculture firms and also because younger people move away to pursue other opportunities. Wonderful image though. ~BV~

We sold the last 40 acres of our family farm in 2018. Family scattered across the U.S. and no one home to work it. We leased it to a neighboring farm for years and made a small amount - enough to pay taxes. Sold off bits. Then the big money was offered by a developer. V

a wonderful scene tainted by poignancy...pity it's come to this state, as the various buildings suggest a once thriving operation..

Beautiful panorama, but a sad commentary on the fate of small farms.
