We got up before dawn to go down the eastern sierra for fall pictures. While it was still dark 100 miles from home a deer jumped in front of my car. It was either oncoming car, deer, or rock wall. The doe was hit by me, then the oncoming car. It was awful. I hope to never hear that sound again. The good news is that we were unharmed. 9 hours later we made it back home aboard a tow truck.
