Lucy and Lucas

Lucy has a way of making friends of all ages and my grandson immediately took a liking to her.

Never once did he question why Lucy always sat in the same chair nor did he ask why she didn't talk. She was accepted as a member of the family.

But I do wonder what was going through his mind as he gently touched Lucy's hand. Was he hoping that she would hold his hand? Was he wondering why his "Lala" would have this strange lady in the house? Or was he just marveling at how "special" she was? I may never know the answer.

Today, my three grandchildren laugh about Lucy and occasionally Evan will pull off her wig and put it on his head and go running around the house with hysterical laughter.

I guess it's a good thing that Lucy is not too sensitive!

Love it! It would be so fun to have Lucy visit an elementary school and record the children's reactions to her. At that age, I'm sure they would think her real, and the comments would probably be priceless. I used to teach pre-K (4 year olds) and the amusing and sometimes profound things they said really made me see my adult world differently. Anway, Linda Fay, you take beautiful pics and I love your sense of humor. :)

Lucy has been in the family for some time, a perfect addition as she probably never talks back or argues :-) V
