Following Lucy's venture outside and after a couple gin and tonics, the decision was made to have Lucy now sit in the living room in plain site of the front door and anyone who might enter.
Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers (she has since died) stood guard as she so often did. Definitely a little pug with attitude!


We were having a new dishwasher installed and the fella entered the house. I introduced him to Lucy and he said hello as if there was nothing a bit odd about this exchange.
He was extremely nice and polite as he did the installation and a couple times went out to his truck and passed Lucy each time.


I helped to clean up the floor before he installed the new dishwasher.
As he held the dirty paper towels in his hand, he asked where the trash was and I directed him to the large rubber rat standing next to the trash.
(Yes, I collect rubber rats. And that's another story!)
He laughed as he approached the big rat. At this point, I had no idea what might be going through his mind.


As he was preparing to leave he turned and said good-bye to Lucy and proceeded towards the door.
Then he stopped... turned around and asked... "How old is she?" And my response was... "Younger than I".
With that he laughed and said I have a good sense of humor. I thanked him for his good service.


I would have loved to hear what he had to tell his buddies when he returned to the shop! Definitely not your typical dishwasher installation!
